Governor Tina Kotek has declared a drought emergency in Coos, Klamath, and Wheeler counties.
This is the third drought declaration issued so far this year.
In total, 12 of Oregon’s 36 counties are now under drought emergency status.
Forecasted snowpack, temperature, precipitation and water supply conditions suggest drought conditions are unlikely to improve in the near future.
