The Eugene Police Department will conduct traffic safety efforts on River Road on Wednesday. The EPD traffic safety unit will be joined by patrol officers, community safety officers, and other special units.
They will focus on drivers speeding and failing to stop for pedestrians. The effort is also targeting distracted drivers. The increased patrol is intended to address vehicle and pedestrian safety issues and reduce the number of pedestrian crashes.
