Knoll Fire Touches McKenzie River, Closures Announced

The Knoll Fire in the Willamette National Forest has reached the McKenzie River’s banks, prompting the Oregon State Marine Board to issue a temporary closure.

  

No recreational boating will be allowed due to burnt and fallen trees entering the water.

The Knoll Fire is east of Eugene andSpringfield, just beyond Blue River.  Currently it’s at 300 acres. 

Officials have also announced the closure of the Trail Bridge Reservoir Dam downstream to the Frissel Boat Ramp at least through August 20th, unless otherwise specified.

A Level 1 evacuation level for locals near the wildfire has been issued by Lane County. Residents are encouraged to follow the Knoll Fire on Inciweb or Facebook
