It’s one of many changes to the traditional college experience this year, thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Normally, first-year OSU students who are coming directly from high school are required to live in on-campus housing. There are exceptions for people who are living with their family, but only if their home is within 30 miles of campus.

But with the vast majority of fall classes being delivered remotely, the university now says first-year students can live with their family regardless of where their home is. OSU says students who do choose to live on campus but then change their mind will only be charged for the days they occupy their room.
