The University of Oregon has seen a spike in students and employees testing positive for COVID-19 in recent weeks.
191 people associated with UO have tested positive in the past 14 days. That includes 103 on-campus students, 85 off-campus students and three employees.
In all of December, the university reported a total combined 103 students and employees with positive test results.
According to the University's Coronavirus page, they continue to conduct regular testing and when anyone living in residence halls tests positive, those students are isolated. The UO is providing COVID-19 testing Monday through Thursday to students who live in the residence halls, with at least one student in each room tested weekly.
The university also says appropriate protocols for cleaning are being followed.
The most recent UO employee to test positive was on campus while they were contagious. Those who were in close proximity to the employee have been contacted and referred to Lane County Public Health.
The Winter Term is being conducted primarily through remote and online instruction, with some in-person labs, studio experiences, and other small experiences.
To date, 683 off-campus student, 186 on-campus students and 20 employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
