Duck Fans Deflated After Loss To Ohio State

Desmond O'Boyle

Oregon fans were deflated following the 42 to 20 loss to Ohio State in the National Championship Monday night.

Trailing 35 to 20 halfway through the fourth quarter, the Ducks began playing desperate football. The defense was unable to stop Ohio's running game, and the offense couldn't find their rhythm. When a comeback was obviously out of reach, people began closing their bar tabs and the sour taste of defeat was pasted on everyone's faces. Oregon student Enrique Munoz describes the loss.

Munoz: "It feels so much worse. Only because this is the second time we've gone, and oh, my god, it devastating, it's horrible, it feels bad."

U of O alum Annie Galloway, didn't feel much better.

Galloway: "My reaction to the game is this: I'm so sad, why Ducks? Why"

Oregon fans will be anticipating Heisman winner quarterback Marcus Mariota's decision to declare for the NFL draft next season. He's still eligible for one more year at the U of O if he chooses.
