Rachael McDonald

Two former University of Oregon Ducks have made the men's Olympic javelin team.
Cyrus Hostetler  threw the farthest Monday at Hayward Field.

Cyrus Hostetler was born in Newberg, Oregon. He attended Lane Community College and the University of Oregon.
Hostetler got huge cheers from the crowd at Hayward Field.
Hostetler: “I mean I think it’s just something special. I mean, those fans never forget who you are and it’s just, you know every time, no matter where you go, you come back and this is still your team. This is still your family.”
Fellow Duck Sam Crouser also made the Men’s U.S. javelin team. His cousin Ryan Crouser is going to Rio too, competing in the shot put. Sam's sister Haley is also is also in the running. She competes in the javelin Thursday.
