Valley Radio Club of Eugene, is locally hosting the American Radio Relay League Field Day event at Lowell State Park.

This is a 2 day annual event, in which amateur radio operators set up portable stations using emergency power to contact other hams in a nationwide contest.

The public is invited to participate to get on the air and explore the latest communication technology.

On 22 MAY, 2025, Oregon Governor, Tina Kotek, proclaimed June as Amateur Radio Month. She honored ham operators for freely providing communications in times of disaster, and their sponsoring of the annual ARRL Hamvention at Seaside, OR and Field Day.
