Writers & Wine, a literary event and fundraiser presented by the Fern Ridge Library Foundation, takes place on Sunday, October 6 from 3:30-6:00 p.m. at the Fern Ridge Library, 88026 Territorial Hwy in Veneta. Oregon author Bob Welch and his newest work, Seven Summers (And a Few Bummers) is featured this year. Bob’s book and his reading is about his decade-long pursuit hiking the 2,650 mile Pacific Crest Trail. This endearing story from the award-winning Welch will help readers understand the soul of America’s iconic trail, laugh in the face of aging, celebrate friendship, and, hikers or not, consider living life with more thirst for adventure. A copy of this book will be provided to all ticket holders. Wine from Silvan Ridge Winery and raffle tickets, including a gift certificate to the Overleaf Lodge in Yachats or tickets to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and other prizes are offered.
