More Than 130k Oregonians Without Power

Lane Electric website

More than 130 thousand people are without power across Oregon today due to high winds, fire, and downed lines.

Updated 12:00 p.m.

EWEB reports many customers may remain without power today because high winds are forecast through Tuesday evening. The utility says service has been restored to more than 400 customers in southeast Eugene, but if conditions warrant, they will pre-emptively shut off power to reduce the risk of wildfires.

Nearly 10,000 Lane Electric customers are without power. The utility says linemen will monitor each of their substations today. Because high winds are expected to return this afternoon, they also may pre-emptively shut down power for safety.

EPUD reports several outages in its Elmira and Cottage Grove service areas. Crews are working on the lines, but there’s no estimate for when power will be restored.

Pacific Power reports over 12,000 Lincoln County outages from wind, and says crews are out in force making repairs.
