The Eugene City Council wants input on proposed projects for urban renewal district funding downtown. It’s holding a public hearing Monday.
The Downtown Urban Renewal District takes tax revenue and targets it to redevelopment. Amanda Nobel Flannery is with the City of Eugene. She says there are 4 projects under consideration.
Flannery: “Those are creation of a high speed fiber network downtown, park blocks and open space improvements, a permanent improved space for a possible year-round farmer’s market and the last one is redevelopment of the former Lane Community College Downtown Center.”
Flannery says the City Council will take public comment into consideration when it makes a decision about the urban renewal district in June. The public hearing is Monday evening at 7:30 at Harris Hall in Eugene.
