EWEB Riverfront Park Plan Nearly Complete

After years of envisioning and months of design work and public comments, Eugene officials recently revealed a plan for the downtown Riverfront Park. The city is taking feedback through Friday.

The public park slated for the former EWEB site covers 4½ acres of the 16-acre property. Emily Proudfoot is the project manager. She says the plan includes a plaza area for tents or food trucks, a grassy mound with a water feature and a nature-based playground at the base. And then, leading to the Willamette...

Proudfoot: “We have a series of river terraces that really take advantage of the views, which is kind of the magic of this place. It's right on a place in the river as it bends north, so you get these amazing views up and down river.”

Proudfoot says they'll break ground by 2020, with the goal of being done for the 2021 Track and Field World Championships.

The city wants feedback on the design. A public survey is open through Friday, October 12th. You can find the survey here. More information on the project is here
