There’s a little more time to weigh in on a potential bond measure for Eugene 4J Schools. If placed on the November ballot, it would fund replacing and improving aging school buildings and learning materials.

4J spokeswoman Kerry Delf says the district’s facility and materials needs total more than 1 billion dollars. But, she says, the key is to prioritize which improvements are necessary to complete in the next few years.
“The school board has been discussing this with community,” Delf says, “Assessing those priorities and is now preparing to make final decisions about a potential bond measure that could pay to replace some aging school buildings, provide critical maintenance and repairs for other, improve safety and security at schools and make other improvements such as modernizing curriculum and technology.”
The school board is holding a community forum on the potential bond measure Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 at the 4J Education Center in Eugene. There’s also an online survey through midnight Wednesday.
The board is expected to make its final decision in June.
