Fall terms are about to begin at Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. And that means students are moving back to campus this week in Corvallis and Eugene.
OSU says more than 4,600 students will be living on campus this fall. That’s about twice as many as last fall. The university says about 93% of the residence hall students have already verified that they’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19, as required by the school. Students will also be tested for the coronavirus when they arrive on campus.
At the University of Oregon, most on-campus students will arrive on Thursday. The school says students who have already submitted proof of vaccination will be cleared to move in immediately. Those who have yet to comply with the requirement or who have been granted an exemption will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival. They’ll also be subject to weekly testing throughout the term.
Fall classes begin Sept. 22 at Oregon State University and Sept. 27 at the University of Oregon.
