Eugene School District 4J is seeking public input as it prepares to hire a new superintendent. The district has been without a permanent superintendent for more than 18 months, and hopes to have a new leader in place by July.
The district will hold five online forums this month to gather feedback from the community on what they’d like to see in a new superintendent. The district is also gathering input with an online survey.
In 2020, the previous Eugene 4J superintendent, Gustavo Balderas, resigned from his position in order to take a similar job at a larger school district near Seattle. Cydney Vandercar has been serving as interim superintendent.
