Sunday Is Deadline For Cheap Senior National Park PasSunday is the deadline to purchase a lifetime senior pass to national parks for $10 dollars. After that, the price shoots up to $80.

People age 62 and older qualify for the lifetime senior park passes. They’ll be 10 bucks until midnight Sunday. Marsha McCabe is with Oregon’s only National Park, Crater Lake. She says even at 80 dollars the pass is a pretty good deal.
McCabe: “It gives you entrance into all national park sites and other federally land managed areas. So, it actually provides access for more than 2000 recreation sites managed by 5 different land management agencies.”
McCabe says the price increase deadline has created a surge in visitors to Crater Lake. The lifetime senior passes are available at Crater Lake, most federal recreation sites, and online at store.usgs.gov. But the online purchase includes a 10-dollar processing fee. The price increase was passed by Congress in December. The revenue generated will go to the National Park Service Centennial Project.
