Heat And More Hazy Smoke For Labor Day Weekend

Residents of the South Willamette Valley should get relief from poor air quality this afternoon (Tuesday). But the smoky air is expected to return for Labor Day weekend.

Gerald Macke with the National Weather Service in Portland says winds have been bringing smoke from wildfires into the valley. But, he says air quality will be better with cooler temperatures Wednesday and Thursday. Unfortunately, Macke says the winds are expected to bring smoke back to the valley Friday
“It’s just going to be clear skies except for a lot of restriction due to smoke in the air.” Macke says,  “And hot temperatures. It really doesn’t cool off real good at night either.”
Labor Day weekend looks to be hot and smoky with temperatures climbing back up to the mid-90s.
