Lane Co. Public Health Warns Of Potential Return To Phase 1

Lane County Public Health video

The positivity rate of people with COVID-19 in Lane County has tripled in the last couple weeks. That is an indicator of how much the virus is spreading in our communities.

Lane County Public Health spokesperson Jason Davis says the increase in infectious cases and ever-growing number of presumptive cases is having a serious impact.

Davis says the Public Health Incident Commander for COVID-19 had a warning for the Board of County Commissioners at their meeting Tuesday morning.

“If things continue on the rate that they are then we will potentially have to move back to Phase 1.  And that is something Public Health doesn't want to see happen. I don’t think anyone in the community wants to see happen. But it’s the reality we’re facing right now.”

Davis appeals to the better sense of every community member to take precautions, limit gatherings and protect yourself and each other right now.
