Organizers Cancel Whiteaker Block Party Citing Rising COVID Numbers

Whiteaker Block Party Facebook page

The Whiteaker Block Party scheduled for this Saturday in Eugene has been canceled. Organizers cite rising case counts and hospitalizations and the Delta variant of COVID-19 in Lane County in their announcement.

From organizers:

We are saddened to report that due to recent, rising case and hospitalization data for the Covid Delta variant in Lane County, and the threats it poses to our community members, this year's Pop-Up Block Party has been cancelled.

We hope that we can work together as a community composed of both residents and businesses to continue to take precautions in order to minimize the spread and impact of this disease.

Stay safe out there, and until next time, cheers bitches.
