“It's not true that I had nothing on.  I had the radio on.”   -Marilyn Monroe

Who knew Marilyn Monroe was a radio fan??  And what connection could there possibly be with KLCC and the '60's bombshell??

Marilyn Monroe would have turned 89 on June 1, and  KLCC 89.7 has a fabulous work of art to give away!  It's a custom-framed photograph of Marilyn taken by her friend and photographer Milton Greene.

The Archives of Milton H. Green of Florence, Oregon has generously donated this iconic print to KLCC.  One KLCC listener will win it in our June 1 Happy Birthday Marilyn drawing.*

This newly restored image was created in 1954 in Milton’s New York studio.  It is from the "Ballerina" series, one of Milton and Marilyn's most recognized collaborations.  Clothing designer Ann Klein sent various outfits to Milton's studio for Marilyn to wear, however the outfits were 2 sizes too small.  All of the poses in this sitting amusingly deal with Marilyn's problem of holding up the ill-fitting tulle and satin dress. This image captures Marilyn appearing angelic, yet seductive, a look that became legendary and defined her appeal.

This print was produced by Black Box Collotype in Chicago, using the Advanced Continuous Tone process.  The framed print measures 32" x 30" and is #76 in a limited printing of 150.
