The KLCC news team was recognized with three national awards this weekend at the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI) conference in Washington, D.C.
In Division C, the small station category, KLCC won first place for Best Use of Sound for Alec Cowan’s feature, “Freshwater Mussels Studied to Understand River Health”. KLCC also won first place for Best Soft Feature for Tiffany Eckert’s story, “Boy to get Prosthetic Arms Made on a 3-D Printer”. And KLCC won 2nd place for Best Newscast for host Love Cross.
At the conference, the membership decided to change the name of the organization from Public Radio News Directors Association to Public Media Journalists Association. The idea is to make the organization more inclusive.
