The publisher of the Register-Guard, N Christian Anderson III, is no longer at the newspaper.
It’s unclear whether he was fired or left voluntarily.
He started at the Guard on June 1st. Anderson had previously been publisher at the Oregonian in Portland.
Tony Baker has taken over the Publisher/ Editor in Chief position. In a letter to staff Thursday, Baker says the paper will seek a new leader in January. The letter was leaked to the Eugene Weekly and is now circulating on social media.
In an email to KLCC, Wendy Baker, the newspaper’s Human Resources Director, confirms that, quote, “Mr. Anderson no longer works for The Register-Guard. Beyond that, we have a policy of not commenting on personnel matters.”
