Hop Valley Brewing is expanding into Washington and Idaho later this month. A new distribution partnership is making it possible to supply these states with the Eugene business' beer.
Hop Valley is adding four new beer tanks ranging in size from 4,000 to 6,000 gallons to its Whiteaker facility. In October, additional 12,000 gallon tanks will arrive. Jonas Kungys, a Hop Valley owner says the tanks are needed to meet demands in the Northwest.
Kungys: “Our demand has been very high and we’ve been having trouble just fulfilling orders within the state of Oregon. There’s been a lot of demand out of the state of Washington to try to get our beer and to help accommodate what we’re going to have to put out there, we’ve definitely had to add tanks so we can put the beer in more vessels.”
Kungys says the new markets in Washington and Idaho were made possible by a new partnership with Columbia Distributing. In the past few months Hop Valley's added more than 20 new jobs. With this expansion, they hope to hire at least 10 additional employees before the end of the year.
