Oregon Tradeswomen, a nonprofit organization that provides training and support to women in the skilled trades, has brought its pre-apprenticeship training program to Springfield for the very first time.

An "Ultimate" team from South Eugene is one of the first high school club teams in Oregon, if not the first, to welcome cis, nonbinary, and transgender athletes to play together.But that gender diversity has not always been welcome by the team's opponents.
