Marilyn Hinson is a fitness educator at the Downtown Athletic Club in Eugene. Two of Marilyn's longtime students, Caroline Moore and Liz Coleman, nominated Marilyn as an Inspiring Mind, sharing that she keeps them inspired to embrace the movement of their bodies.
Marilyn has been a fixture at the Downtown Athletic Club for 32 years, teaching classes and holding the noon Monday, Wednesday, Friday slot for 31 of those years. She served as Group Exercise Director for five years before founding Downtown Pilates, a full Pilates studio that has been in business for 25 years.
Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Juilliard School and an M.A. from UCLA. She founded the dance program at Missouri Valley College, where she served as a professor.
Marilyn believes that each exercise session is an artistic experience.
