Final Opportunity For Community To Shape Eugene Park Blocks

Aubrey Bulkeley

The City of Eugene is hosting its final event Thursday, September 12th seeking community input about the future of the downtown Parks Blocks.

After over fifteen hundred people gave feedback on three designs at the last event, Town Square Analyst Joshua Berman says this draft of the final concept will consolidate all the input.

“We really want to be checking in and making sure this is a community led process. So, we will have another survey and we’ll have the design team out there really answering questions.”

There will be dance performances, a community art project, food and a beer garden.

“One of the goals of the outreach has been to really show how the park blocks can really come alive with a new town square. So, people have a chance to talk about the designs, but also really enjoy a lovely evening.”

Berman says they’ll take all the public input and give a final design proposal to Eugene City Council who has the final say.

More information about the event can be found here and the survey results from the last event can be found here.
