Lincoln County says the vast majority of its employees included in Oregon Gov. Kate Brown’s vaccine mandate have received the COVID-19 vaccine in advance of this months’ deadline.
Brown ordered that people working in the medical and education field to receive the vaccine by October 18 or risk losing their job.
Lincoln County human resources director Doug Collier told the Board of Commissioners Wednesday that 94 percent of the 165 affected county workers have shown proof of being vaccinated.
“We’re very close to wrapping this up with all of our impacted employees,” he said.
Collier said about five employees have requested or received an exemption to the mandate.
The numbers do not include healthcare or education workers employed by other public or private employers in Lincoln County.
