City Emergency in Response to Wildfire Extended in Springfield

The Springfield City Council unanimously voted Monday night to extend the state of emergency issued in response to the Holiday Farm Fire. The declaration is necessary for the city’s continuing response and reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The City Manager declared a state of emergency on September 8th, and the order was set to expire September 22.

Restrictions prohibiting the use of open flame have been removed. Community members are now allowed to use equipment capable of igniting a fire, recreational fires and most outdoor barbeques. The extension expires upon revocation of the Council or the City Manager.
