The Eugene Mission has secured its campus after identifying its first case of COVID-19 last Wednesday.
The Mission says that it now knows of three cases among its guests. Staff who had been in contact with the guests are isolating at home and will be tested and cleared before returning to work.
The Mission says it has been free of any positive cases of COVID-19 until now. In a press release, the organization said it had a plan in place in anticipation of that possibility and is now putting the plan into action. The Mission says it is preventing the spread of the virus and caring for and providing services to its guests.
The Mission, which provides shelter and other services to people who are homeless, is restricting access to its campus to staff and current guests only. It has identified seven additional guests who may be at risk and are now in isolation.
