Saturday was the 28th Pride celebration in Lane County.
Eugene Springfield’s Pride Festival took place at Alton Baker Park. People, young and old, waved their pride flags and wore colorful outfits.
One of the first performances of the afternoon was the Eugene’s Gay Men’s Chorus.
Rose, from Looking Glass’ booth, says she enjoys the mix of people that come to Pride.
“My favorite part? Just the diversity,” says Rose. “And it’s great that we’re all able to come together and all have something in common too.”
Numerous booths were also set up, including LGBTQ Romance Authors Northwest, Transponder, and Invisible Strings Bookshop. Not to mention, events such as queer yoga and drag queen book readings for kids.
A small group of people was protesting LGBTQ community, but the two drag queen hosts told everyone to just ignore them.
The rain also didn’t slow down any of the festivities.
