John Pellesier, outlining the current situation with the Grandview Fire roughly 10 miles away from Sisters, Oregon.

“So we’re going to try to get that 25-ft. depth culled out," said Pellesier. "What that entails is we’re laying some line, and so we’re laying hose out, we’re using natural water sources, and we’ve set up a hose-lay around this fire where needed, and we’ve put a lot of water on that fire to assist in that mop up stage.”

Pellesier saidthe terrain is steep and rocky, making things challenging for the 829 firefighters onsite.

The Grandview Fire is 14% contained.
