Oregon At More Than 10,800 Known Coronavirus Cases

The Oregon Health Authority Wednesday reported 217 new confirmed and presumptive coronavirus cases. That brings the state to a total of 10,817 cases.

The state health agency reported four new coronavirus-related deaths Wednesday. The number of people confirmed to have died from the virus in Oregon is 224.

OHA described those new deaths as:

An 85-year-old woman in Benton County who tested positive May 31 and died June 28 at her residence. She had underlying medical conditions.

A 55-year-old man in Multnomah County who tested positive June 22 and died June 28 at his residence. He had underlying medical conditions.

A 91-year-old woman in Marion County who tested positive June 18 and died July 5 at her residence. She had underlying medical conditions.

A 36-year-old man in Multnomah County who tested positive June 3 and died July 7 at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. He had underlying medical conditions.

As of Wednesday, 188 people are hospitalized with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state, including 27 who are on ventilators. The coronavirus has led to the hospitalization of 1,155 people statewide over the course of the pandemic.

Last week, OHA said, there were 1,910 new cases in Oregon. That’s an increase of 51% over the previous week.

Clark County cases surpass 1,000

Health officials in Clark County, Washington, Wednesday reported 37 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The County now has a total of 1,090 coronavirus cases. It said 22 people are currently hospitalized.

The county’s death toll held at 29. Clark County’s application to move into Phase 3 of Washington’s reopening process is on pause. Gov. Jay Inslee announced Thursday there would be at least a two-week pause in response to an increase in cases. The county will remain in Phase 2.

The latest available data from the Washington Department of Health shows there are 37,420 confirmed coronavirus cases in the state and 1,384 known deaths. As of Monday, the coronavirus has led to the hospitalization of 4,582 people in Washington.
