It’s off to the Elite Eight for No. 12 seed Oregon State after another upset win at the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis. The Beavers took down No. 8 Loyola Chicago 65-58 Saturday, sending them to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1982.
Warith Alatishe had a double-double for the Beavers with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Ethan Thompson scored 22 points in the win.
After the game Thompson said “even with the limited fans in attendance, Beaver nation is still showing out and supporting and you know, we feel that energy when we’re playing and feed off it. So it’s definitely a dream come true and we’re trying to keep it going.”
Oregon State made their way to this year’s NCAA Tournament after capturing the Pac-12 Tournament title earlier this month. The Beavers were initially picked to finish last in the Pac-12.
