The training brought together 250 crew members from across the Mountain West for re-certification ahead of what could be a very active wildfire season.

Crews will practice their response to an active shooter scenario with the help of volunteers.

Over a hundred volunteers participated in a “mass care exercise” at the Lane County Fairgrounds on Wednesday. It was a chance for agencies to test disaster relief procedures –including setting up emergency shelters for people and pets.
