A year removed from a protracted strike in Portland, the Greater Albany Education Association went on strike Tuesday

District and union leaders in Greater Albany Public Schools did not finalize a contract during mediation sessions over the long weekend.

Roughly 97% of Greater Albany Education Association members voted on whether to approve a strike. A 92% majority said “yes.”
