The superintendent of the Alsea School District unexpectedly resigned during an emergency school board meeting Tuesday evening.

Students are back in class in Alsea after the district was closed for a week due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Going against Oregon Health Authority rules, the Alsea School District is no longer enforcing masks in any school setting, except for when riding on a bus.
