From 1,100 To Three: Names Of New Eugene Roads To Be Revealed Tuesday

There’s a big reveal today (11/26) with Eugene Mayor Lucy Vinis.  She says with the Downtown Riverfront development creating many fresh features, this includes several new roads.

“And so there will be three new streets there, and we’ve just gone through a big public engagement process to invite people to both recommend names for those streets, and then vote on their favorites.”

More than 1,100 street names were submitted this summer, which include finalists “Wiley Griffon”, “Cannery”, and “NakNak”.

The winners will be revealed at a press event this morning at the Downtown Riverfront site.  Mayor Vinis will be joined by representatives of the chosen street names to discuss the history -and community relevance- of each one.
