Bailey Lane Shooter Charged And Identified

Jobs For Felons

The 17-year-old suspect in Tuesday’s shooting on Bailey Lane has been charged as an adult, and identified.

Lane County Circuit Court papers say Mason Everett Wood faces charges of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and unlawful use of a weapon.

Wood fled the scene of a shooting near Monroe Middle School early Tuesday, prompting it and three other schools to go into varying levels of lockdown. That same night, a SWAT team and other personnel gathered in a residential area near the U of O.

EPD Lieutenant David Natt.

EPD Lieutenant David Natt says Wood was arrested around 9:00 PM.

“I don’t have any details about him slipping out of any homes," Natt tells reporters.  "There was just ongoing negotiations between our crisis team, and he and another member of his family, to get him to respond to headquarters and turn himself in.”

Natt did not comment on the status of the shooting victim. But police believe Wood and the victim knew each other.
