The firefighter-- who was the victim of a hit and run near the Terwilliger fire camp - remains in hospital following four major surgeries. The investigation to find the driver continues.
Oregon State Patrol responded to the September 3rd hit and run incident and recovered evidence on the roadside. Sergeant Elijah Chambers says they know the vehicle was a light colored Toyota Sienna minivan and it took damage to the right mirror and the right headlight.
Chambers says hit and runs involving a pedestrian are uncommon in this area. After nearly a month, he hopes to solve this case.
“Somebody knows where this van is. Somebody knows where this van is parked. Who it belongs to. We need to get this ID’ed. We need to get the person that was involved in this identified. They maybe thought that they had hit something else and didn’t realize they had hit a person.”
