Fire Relief Active In Two Eugene Locations

Nina Fink

Collection and distribution of donations for those affected by the Holiday Farm Fire continues at two locations in Eugene.

Bethany Cartledge with St. Vincent de Paul said community support has been incredible. “We had so many donations on Saturday we actually had to halt it at one point just so that we could ensure we could get everything into the building," she said. "Since we’ve had such an amazing outpouring of support and we’ve had so many volunteers here, we’ve sorted through all the donations that came in over the weekend.”

Cartledge said they'll update their website with current needs. They're open at 2699 Roosevelt Blvd. from 10-4 every day. To volunteer at the site, sign up through the McKenzie River Trust's website

The fire relief effort based at Eugene’s Masonic Lodge on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Eugene could use cash and gas gift card donations. Operations Coordinator Dan Isaacson said businesses have also helped, for example, “U-Haul with trucks, WalMart for wifi and charging stations, as well as Honey Pots for bathrooms, the Masonic Lodge for the donation site itself.”

Isaacson says they’re open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul's main website also details other ways to help.

Karen Richards joined KLCC as a volunteer reporter in 2012, and became a freelance reporter at the station in 2015. In addition to news reporting, she’s contributed to several feature series for the station, earning multiple awards for her reporting.
