Lane County Sheriff's Deputy Dies In Drowning

Lane County Sheriff

A Lane County Sheriff’s deputy drowned Sunday at Foster Reservoir near Sweet Home.

Courtney Couch Anderson was paddle boarding with her family. She attempted to help a child and slipped into the water. Anderson was not wearing a life jacket. Other swimmers were able to find her and pull her to the surface. She was taken to Lebanon Community Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office put out a statement mourning the loss of their deputy who’d been with the agency for seven years. The Linn County Sheriff is investigating the incident.
