The day before GateHouse Media took over the Register Guard, there was an exodus of high level employees, including the newspaper’s managing editor and publisher.
The next day, March 1st, Shanna (pronounced Shawna) Cannon was named the new publisher. I met up with Cannon at the Register Guard for an introductory interview. She took me on an impromptu tour—past reels of news print, through the press room and the packaging area—some of the places where the Register-Guard is produced.
