Arcimoto Electric Vehicle Rental Center Opens In Eugene

Eugene-based Arcimoto recently opened a rental program for it’s Fun Utility Vehicles or FUVs. Director of Communications Jonathan Miller shared why Arcimoto opened the rental center.

“Most people have not driven an electric vehicle. Even more people have not driven a three-wheel vehicle,” he said. “It’s so different from anything else. It’s like driving your own little spaceship on the road.”

Eugene is the fourth city to have FUVs for rent. They can be reserved by the hour or day. And are available to anyone 18 and older.

The open sides and panoramic roof make it easy to see everything. Two cross-body seat belts help center passengers in the vehicle. The vehicle can also reach speeds up to 75 miles per hour and can go roughly 100 city miles before needing a charge.

Miller sees the rental shop as a step towards a more environmentally sustainable future.

“We really believe Eugene has the potential to be a green tech capital of the Pacific Northwest,” said Miller. “And lead the way on a host of issues, including sustainable transportation.”

More information about the rental program can be found here.
