Oregonians who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear masks or social distance. Governor Kate Brown made the announcement via video Thursday.
That’s after the Centers For Disease Control issued updated guidelines for people who have been fully vaccinated. There are exceptions including on public transportation and in health care settings.
“Oregonians now have a choice of how to protect themselves and others from COVID-19: either get vaccinated, or continue wearing a mask and following physical distancing requirements.” Brown said. “The new CDC guidance makes clear that vaccines are the best tool to protect yourself, and everyone around you.”
Brown said the Oregon Health Authority will provide updated guidelines for workplaces in the coming days. She said nothing is changing for schools for this academic year.
