New Vax Policy Prompts UO To Hold Single-Dose Clinic For Students

Jes Burns

Recently, the University of Oregon announced it will require students and employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to the start of the fall term. The university continues to work through the decision.

Prior, the university has held several vax clinics for the campus community. In April, 4,780 prime doses of Pfizer vaccine were administered to students and staff. Second doses were given last week.

U of O spokesperson Kay Jarvis said another clinic is scheduled at Autzen Stadium this Thursday, May 27. This one will feature the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

"The single-dose vaccine provides another opportunity for students to be fully vaccinated before the end of spring term.”

Jarvis said there are still questions surrounding the decision to require vaccination. Part of that includes-- the U of O will allow individuals to request an exemption.
