Funding for emergency rental assistance for Lane County residents will be available once again. Eligible applicants can apply Friday March 19 between 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Lane County Human Services Division received about $4 million for the State of Oregon’s "Supporting Tenants Accessing Rental Relief" fund. The aid was passed by the State Legislature as part of the passing of an eviction moratorium in Dec. 2020.

Applicants must be a renter living in Lane County, have an income level at or below 80 percent of the area’s median income, and have experienced financial hardship because of COVID-19. This also includes business closures.

Residents who have been diagnosed or exposed to COVID-19, or have a compromised health status because of the virus also qualify.

According to the county, applications will be prioritized based on income, unemployment history, and need. The process is expected to take five minutes and applicants will have until 1 p.m. to submit their application.

For more information you can visit www.LaneCounty.org/RENT, or call 541-682-3776 to receive help with applying on March 19.
