Voters of the 4th Congressional District have re-elected Peter DeFazio for a 17th term in the U.S. House of Representatives. KLCC’s Tiffany Eckert was at the Democratic watch party Tuesday night when the Congressman’s win was announced.
Into a packed room at Eugene’s Valley River Inn, DeFazio walked to the stage to cheers. He told the crowd two years ago there was shock and depression but now…
“This is different,” DeFazio says of the 2016 election. “Things are gonna change and they just did change.”
DaFazio laid out some of his priorities upon returning to Washington D.C. and a Democratically controlled House.
“We’re gonna start very early on election reform,” DeFazio says. “No more dark money. We can sure make it explicit to see which billionaires are trying to buy America.”
This election marks the 5th time Republican challenger Art Robinson has tried and failed to beat DeFazio.
