With the final steps of an action planning phase at hand, City of Eugene officials are asking for public input on the River Road-Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan.
Terri Harding is the City of Eugene’s Principal Planner. She’s hoping residents will come and review draft action items Wednesday night (11/13) at North Eugene High School.
“What should the buildings look like, what should the housing look like, how can we better connect people from the neighborhoods to places where they shop, go to school, or recreate? Action items focused on increasing walking and biking, especially for safe routes to schools and access to the river path.”
Starting next year, city and county lawmakers will review the plan. To date, the city has allocated $160,000 to support its implementation.
And a federal transit grant of $450,000 is helping develop a land use plan for developing a mixed-use corridor in the River Road-Santa Clara area.
The Wednesday event is billed as "Pumpkin Pie & Planning", and will consist of snacks, kids' activities, and a raffle. It runs from 5:30-8:00pm at North Eugene High School, at 200 Silver Lane.
