4J Elementaries Reconfigure Online Cohorts

Karen Richards

Eugene 4J elementary school parents who’ve chosen to remain in comprehensive distance learning should expect some changes before spring break. Spokesperson Kerry Delf said because most people chose the hybrid model, those staying online are more likely to be assigned a new teacher.

“Classrooms are being reconfigured," she confirmed. "Some of those may be a combination of students in the same grade from multiple schools or blended grade classrooms, and that’s because of the numbers. For example, at one school there’s three students in first grade who opted for all online learning, and in another school it’s five students in first grade.”

Delf says they can’t support a class with five students. She says distance learning changes will take place the week of March 15th.
