An annual celebration of Asian culture marked its fifth year Friday night at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Eugene. Hundreds of people filled the space, to see dance, martial arts, and Taiko drumming.

Organizers say the celebration is a place where people can try something that is new to them and outside of their comfort zone.

The 38th annual Asian Celebration and Obon and Taiko Festival takes place July 29 in Eugene.
